The Nigeria National League NNL, has stressed the importance of having a comprehensive insurance package for all the players and officials in the second tier league in case of death, injuries and accidents.Chief Operating Officer COO of the NNL, Emmanuel Adesanya, in a letter which was addressed to all states Football Associations and clubs, the teams were asked to pay a sum of N400, 000 which will cater for the insurance of players and officials."This is to inform you that following various complaints received, and in order to cushion the cost of insurance for 40 players and ten officials from each club, the League Management has resolved to revert to the existing insurance arrangement.
"This implies that there will be centralized insurance of all clubs' players and their officials by the Nigeria National League Secretariat. To this end, payment of N400,000 (Four hundred thousand Naira) only by all clubs for insurance will apply for the 2020/2021 League season," the letter reads.
